Finally able to get to the computer again after the decorating forced it into storage mode!

The finals day for the winter competitions was blessed with the rain holding off till the last game had left the rinks fortunately, well done to the winners, of which I was lucky enough to be one, after a great game with John, it going to an extra end after I had pulled back two shots on the 11th end to equalise, hopefully it was as enjoyable for the spectators as it was for John and myself.

A huge thanks for all the effort put in as usual by the few for the benefit of the many, it’s the way of the world sadly.

I have never been a fan of two wood club competitions and I am glad to say that my proposal to make it three woods for the singles competitions has been adopted, as has my proposal to make it club shirts and greys for the finals as well as the preliminaries, so the usual grey shorts, skirts, or trousers are the rule.

Here now are the happy winners receiving their trophies, note my grip on Martins wrist to ensure he didn’t whip it back!

Unfortunately I don’t have a photo of Martin receiving his trophy, hopefully one of the members who was there has one they can forward to me.

The Bowls England Ladies squad popped into the Club to get some practice on carpet in preparation for their appearance in the Women’s Senior British Isles Championships and the Senior International Series.
