Not bad day weatherwise for the competitors and the supporters, made a change from the blistering heat of the summer sessions.
The men’s games were hotly contested as usual, with most playing some great bowls to keep the games alive right to the end, I was the notable exception, some days it just doesn’t go right.
The men’s final looked to be a real fight as the two players left in were ‘on fire’, both Martin and Brian having demolished the opposition in their respective games. The eventual outcome after a fine battle was that Brian went forward to face the lady winner.
Meanwhile, the ladies had some fine games despite a low turnout, with Margaret S battling her way through to eventually face Brian, well done to the ladies that made the effort!
The final was a very good game, with Margaret emerging the winner in the end, despite Brian’s best efforts, well done to both for an excellent game to watch.
A huge thanks also goes out to Liz for her RPT duties and the excellent cake, also for the marking she managed to squeeze in despite all that.
The picture is Margaret and Brian, both winners in my book.
