The Covid restrictions have eased quite substantially now 2022 is here. This enables us to now continue practising and  play competitive bowls on our all weather playing surface. To a lesser extent than previously, Covid rules still have to be observed, such as the washing of hands on arrival and departure at the club. The club house and changing rooms can now be used safely. The wearing of face coverings has now eased too, with an optional choice for this.

There is now no need to book a rink through the club secretary. Bowlers can now just turn up to play. There are organised roll-ups every weekday afternoon, arriving by 1-00 PM for a 1-15 PM start. There is also a practice session Wednesday mornings, to arrive by 9-00 AM for a 9-15 start.

It should be noted that the HeraldExpress paper will not be showing KBC’s league results against neighbouring clubs for 2022 but the Mid Devon Advertiser will. Both newspapers will be happy to publish news of in-house functions/events and  competitions, preferably with photos.

Bowls England plan for a full domestic programme during 2022 for national competitions, including county matches. There is optimism with the continued roll out of the vaccine programme in UK, particularly now that the majority of all ages have been vaccinated.

Further information will be posted when available.
